Why this place
Serra das Confusões protects an enormous stretch of Caatinga in southwestern Piauí, with escarpments, valleys, caves, rock shelters, wildlife and archaeological sites. Access through Caracol keeps the experience genuinely remote and makes the park a natural companion to Serra da Capivara for travellers exploring Brazil’s prehistoric interior.
