Why this place
The Cariri region around Crato, Juazeiro do Norte, Barbalha, Santana do Cariri and Nova Olinda combines the Araripe UNESCO Global Geopark with major religious traditions, museums, fossil sites, crafts, cordel culture and distinctive Sertão food. It is unusually strong because geology, archaeology, biodiversity and living culture all reinforce each other.
