Why this place
Caravelas is the main gateway to Abrolhos Marine National Park, about 70 kilometres offshore. The archipelago protects an exceptional reef system and one of the South Atlantic’s most important humpback-whale breeding areas. Day boats and multi-day liveaboards create very different trips, while diving, snorkelling, seabirds and seasonal whale watching make the destination unusually rich for marine specialists.
