The journey
This trip links three northern Brazil experiences that rarely appear together in a first itinerary, which is exactly what makes it interesting. Belém starts with Amazonian river culture, São Luís adds a different colonial and northeastern layer after the flight east, and Lençóis Maranhenses then strips the journey back to landscape, with four nights reserved for the dunes and seasonal lagoons rather than treating them as a rushed excursion.
