Salvador’s Afro-Brazilian culture, an easy tropical coast extension and the dramatic landscapes of Chapada Diamantina.

The journey
Rather than treating Bahia as only a beach destination, this journey shows three very different sides of the state. Salvador provides the cultural anchor, Praia do Forte adds a simple coastal pause, and Chapada Diamantina changes the landscape completely with an inland mountain finish that makes the route feel much bigger than its three stops suggest.
