Why this place
Chapada dos Guimarães
Chapada dos Guimarães is one of Brazil’s most accessible introductions to the Cerrado. The national park protects the famous Véu de Noiva waterfall, waterfall circuits, sandstone walls and high viewpoints, while the town of Chapada dos Guimarães works as the practical base. Some attractions are self-guided; others such as Cidade de Pedra and Vale do Rio Claro require an authorised conductor and, in places, 4x4 access.
