The journey
This route is deliberately compact and overland, letting the journey itself feel coherent rather than like a collection of separate city breaks. Belo Horizonte and Inhotim introduce contemporary urban life and art before the road leads into the baroque heart of Minas Gerais, where Ouro Preto and Tiradentes slow the pace and keep history, architecture and food at the centre of the trip.
